Ekaterina "Kato" Svanidze was Joseph Stalin's first wife, they married in 1906, and they had Stalin's first boy out of a total of 4 children. She died of typhus in 1907, and Stalin stated that Kato was the only woman he had truly loved. Most of her family was executed during Stalin's Great Terror.
