This would have to be one of the most underrated horror movies there are. It's a great 80's slasher with brilliant effects from the amazing Tom Savini. A must see hor any horror fan in my book.
Anyone else seen this?

Maniac is a great 80's slasher. It holds a grimy feeling throughout the entire film that gives it a lot of unique flavor from a lot of 80's slashers. I still haven't got to add this to my collection yet.

Yeah it's well done, they are releasing a new DVD soon, or so I hear. Probably smart to hold off for it.

I haven't seen this in a few years so that's the plan.it was made here in NY and when I was younger I hung out sometimes by the parking lot where Tom Savini gets his head blown off.

That's pretty awesome. Were you around while they were filming it?

I wasn't actually there when they filmed but that lot is in Bay Ridge where I grew up.you can see the Verrazano-Narrows bridge in the foreground.it's where the the Atlantic Ocean becomes New York harbor, then a little further up splits into the East and Hudson rivers surrounding Manhattan.
